Thank you for visiting!

I am an artist living in Phoenix, Arizona. I created this web site to serve as an online portfolio of my work. My intent is to share what I do with clients, fellow artists, and anyone else who is interested. I have experimented in a number of different media, including computer graphics, watercolor, oil, acrylic, quilting, embroidery, and my personal favorite – pencil and paper. Please click the links at left to see examples.

I love web design. First, it is a complementary mix of artistic flair and technical wizardry. I am not a programmer, but have dabbled in SQL and PHP. I love learning about how things work, as well as how to make them beautiful and easy to use. Second, the web allows people all over the world to share their stories and artwork. Like any tool it can be misused, but the incredible potential for sharing of ideas and promoting of peace and understanding is awesome.

I do freelance graphic design: flyers, brochures, business cards, newsletters and web sites. Please contact me if you would like to discuss a project/get a quote.

Quick summary of what I have to offer:

  • Graphic and web design. I have a BA in Art from Scripps College. I have worked in graphic design and CAD drafting. I learned a lot on the job, and took additional classes in graphic design, web design, and marketing. In December I will complete an AAS degree in web design from Scottsdale Community College.
  • Databases. I realized how useful databases are while working as an administrative assistant. I used databases to compile reports and keep track of many pieces of information. At one job our database was integrated with our web site, and provided up-to-date information and interactive functionality. As part of the web design curriculum at Scottsdale Community College I took three database courses, which I really enjoyed.
  • Writing ability and an analytical thinking style. I worked hard to perfect my writing skills in college. I have used them for many projects at work, including a volunteer manual and copy for clients' web sites.
  • Fluency in Spanish. I studied Spanish through high school and college, did volunteer work in the Dominican Republic for six months, and used Spanish on a daily basis in two of my jobs.

Thoughts:

If you judge people, you have no time to love them.
